The inaugural Volunteer Co-ordinators' Forum

This post is a thank you to everyone who attended the first Volunteer Co-ordinators Forum at the Friends Centre on 25th May and made it such a success, and to update you on our progress with some of the issues raised on the day.

There was a lot of valuable feedback from you on the future structure of the forum and Penny Baker has been collating this along with suggestions from the post-it notes exercise. She is also collating information from the small group discussions into a useful document.

When these are ready they will be made available on the Volunteer Centre's website and in this group. Over the next few days I will send out an email explaining how you can join the group on i-volunteer and how I can support you in doing that. For those of you who are already members of this i-volunteer group, I know Alison has already posted a couple of messages about the forum.

We look forward to being in touch with you again shortly but for now, thanks for coming to the first meeting and we hope to see you again in July...

What is a feed?

A feed is an easy to use way of keeping up to date with lists of information on the web.

You normally subscribe to a feed using a feed reader which collects together all the feeds you subscribe to and also provides a way of unsubscribing should you get tired of a feed. Many browsers have feed readers built in, as do most email clients. In fact, a good way of thinking about feeds, is as a cross between subscribing to an email newsletter and regularly visiting website's news section.
