The Happiness Project

I found this blog a while ago, it has a lovely, simple plan to make London happier, with volunteering right at the core: The London Happiness Project

I know that volunteering makes people happy, we just proved it again, here. I don’t think anyone would deny that the world is a better place when people are happy, and that’s why I work in volunteer management, because volunteering makes people happy and the world a better place.

And yesterday I discovered the chilli plant that I thought had given up the ghost had managed to resurrect itself, so instead of the compost heap it's now back on the windowsill. All the more reason to be happy.

Dear HelenJ

I got links to your post on my blog and I wanted to say thank you so much for the kind words.

I truly believe that it is only by helping others that we can be truly happy. I also believe that doing small things often can make a massive difference.

I'm always keen for volunteering ideas to publicise on my blog (I've done some fundraising for St Mungos and do regular posts on small charitable acts for Londoners) so please feel free to email me, or leave comments on the blog, to suggest ideas.

And thanks again - I appreciate your support!

Best wishes, Sasha @ The Happiness Project London

Hi @HappyProjectLDN

If you're after doing small things that collectively could make a difference, then you may like to pop over to Help From Home's website. Over 500 micro volunteering actions to whet your appetite!

Thanks very much Mike - I'll take a look! I should have a guest post going up soon from someone in the charity sector on small charitable acts that busy Londoners can do, so will see if I can include your site in that too...

What is a feed?

A feed is an easy to use way of keeping up to date with lists of information on the web.

You normally subscribe to a feed using a feed reader which collects together all the feeds you subscribe to and also provides a way of unsubscribing should you get tired of a feed. Many browsers have feed readers built in, as do most email clients. In fact, a good way of thinking about feeds, is as a cross between subscribing to an email newsletter and regularly visiting website's news section.
