feature iconWant to help us launch i-volunteer V2?

We're counting down the days now to the launch of V2 of the i-volunteer site, and it's looking good! We'll be sending you information v soon about the new features and functions so watch this space for full details.

To help mark the event we're doing a PR stunt in central London. The stunt will focus on micro volunteering, a fairly new form of volunteering in the UK, and one of the most popular searches by people visiting the site.

We need some help on the day, to either take part in the stunt (don't worry it's nothing too outrageous) or to help carry stuff and lend moral support - it'll be a fun!

If you're interested please message me or write on my wall and I can fill you in with more details and please feel free to pass this on to people/organisations that you think could help.

Good luck with the Launch and stunt event Jamie.
We are just in the process of adding a blog based micro volunteering element to our Time & Talents activity down here in Exeter via the members section of the website. The aim is that those who Employer Supported Volunteers who have flagged up a particular area of suport offered will get a text/ e-mail to alert them of a new posting of interest to their skill/ knowledge being offered. ie. HR, Marketing, Business Strategy, funding etc etc

Thanks @TimeTalentExeter! Sounds interesting - we will be adding a micro opportunity function on this site too so do look out for that - we're currently getting 12k unique visitors a month looking at blogs alone and this is increasing every day.

@dawniverson have sent you a message :o)

TimeTalentExeter - sounds rather like my recent thoughts about "micro-volunteering" - see the pdf linked at the bottom of the post here: http://wp.me/puFgS-34
Thanks,
Pete

What is a feed?

A feed is an easy to use way of keeping up to date with lists of information on the web.

You normally subscribe to a feed using a feed reader which collects together all the feeds you subscribe to and also provides a way of unsubscribing should you get tired of a feed. Many browsers have feed readers built in, as do most email clients. In fact, a good way of thinking about feeds, is as a cross between subscribing to an email newsletter and regularly visiting website's news section.
